Tapona: Helping Pastors Escape Poverty through Rabbit Farming

Tapona is a non-profit organization that is working to help pastors in Ukunda, Kenya escape poverty through rabbit farming. The organization provides training in rabbit keeping, as well as rabbit hatches, medicine, feed, and rabbits.

Tapona founded the Ukunda rabbit project in 2022. There was a need to help pastors in his community who were struggling to make ends meet. We saw that rabbit farming could be a sustainable source of income for pastors, and Tapona sought to make it happen.

Tapona has been very successful in helping pastors escape poverty. In the past five years, the organization has helped over 20 pastors start rabbit farms. These pastors have been able to provide for their families and even send their children to school.

One of the pastors who has benefited from Tapona is Pastor Maghanga Lydia was struggling to make ends meet when she heard about Tapona. She decided to give rabbit farming a try, and he is now very grateful for the decision.

“Tapona has changed my life,” said Maghanga. “I used to struggle to put food on the table, but now I am able to provide for my family. I am also able to send my children to school. I am so grateful to Tapona for helping me escape poverty.”
